Summary
Tanier spinach (Xanthosoma brasiliense, Araceae) is a common leafy vegetable in south-eastern Brazil. A cuneiform leaf blight which started at the edges of leaves and resulted in complete leaf decay has recently been observed. The causal agent was identified as Pseudomonas cichorii. This appears to be the first report of the disease. [AS]
