Abstract
A school vegetable garden offers many learning possibilities for students and members of the community. Besides being a source of nutritious vegetables to improve the diets and health of students, school gardens add interest and depth to lessons, provide green space on school grounds, and engage the broader community in school activities. To ensure a school garden program continues to grow and thrive, students' interest needs to be maintaned and the community needs to be informed about your achievements. This guide offers tips to plan a communication strategy for sharing your progress with others, based on your goals (what you want to achieve), groups (the different people you need to reach), and gains (the information that will benefit/meet the needs of those people). Numerous tools and techniques can be used to stimulate people’s awareness, participation, and capabilities, but there is no one combination of messages and methods that can guarantee success.
