Title
Allohexaploid hybrids of the Brassico-Raphanobrassica-type
Author
Publication Date
1978
Call Number
REP.CC-0601
Summary
Triploid hybrids with ARC genome configuration resulted from crossings of female Brassica campestris pekinensis with Raphanobrassica (radish x white cabbage, x marrowstem kale, x kohlrabi). Crossing success depended strongly on the Chinese cabbage varieties used. Most of the vigorous and strongly growing hybrids are similar in appearance to the Raphanobrassica forms, but their leves are softer and with larger blades. Colchicinisation of Chinese cabbage-radish-white cabbage hybrids so far led to the production of some seeds from which the development was observed of allohexaploid hybrids (2n=56) of the Brassico-Raphanobrassica-type.
