Summary
`Migold` is a sweet, pointed bell peper (Capsicum annuum L.) with yellow immature fruit that ripen to an orange-red color. It is a week earlier than `Romanian` and is adapted to the northern United States. `Migold` is the result of a cross between `Avelar` and a breeding line obtained from a multiple cross between the cultivars `Romanian`, `Kupos`, `Umajoiri`, and a numbered line. In the F9 generation, seeds from sib-lines were massed to produce `Migold`. Plants are about 55 cm tall and 45 cm wide, with a strong branching habit but few basal branches. The yellow, 3-lobed fruits, (orange-red at maturity) are 6 to 7 cm wide at the shoulders and 10-13 cm long, cone-shaped, and tapering with flesh thickness of 0.6 cm. The seeds are cream-colored. Fruit yield per plant is slightly higher than `Romanian`. [AS/TH]
