Two experiments were carried out under sandy soil conditions at the experimental station of the National Research Centre in Nubaria region during two successive seasons of 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 to study the productivity of onion (Allium cepa L.) as influenced by different organic manure rates and sources. All organic fertilizer treatments ie mixture of farmyard and chicken manure, overcame the control treatment recommended NPK) and improved the vegetative growth characters, essential oil, some of the main constituents of essential oil and NPK contents.
