Title
Screening of heat-tolerance of cucumber at seedling stage
Publication Date
2009
Call Number
A:PS
Summary
Fifteen cucumber. inbred lines of heat-tolerant and heat-sensitive were studied in controlled environment chamber to screen the heat-tolerance ability. With different temperature and light condition, heat-tolerant screening system was developed. The effective screening condition for high temperature stress tr atment is in light with fluctuating temperatures of 36 degrees C -3 h + 40 degrees C-4 h + 36 degrees C-3 h and in dark with temperahire of 26 degrees C-14 h. The highly correlative morphological indexes to heat-tolerant character are total foliage area, number of leaf, plantlet height and stem diameter; and the weight is 0.5,0.3,0.1 and 0.1, respectively. A overall assessment should be taken based on shoot apex differentiation and plantlet morphology.
