Exigua No. 12 is a new red flesh seedless watermelon F) hybrid developed by crossing tetraploid inbred line W 4 - 48 - 3 with diploid inbred line W 2 - 38 - 42 - 1. It is mid-maturity and takes 35 days from flowering to maturity. The fruit is black green rind, bright red flesh, round with 11 % - 12 % of center sugar content, the rind is about 1. 2 cm thick. Average fruit weight is 5 - 7 kg. The yield is about 37.5 t . hm -2. It is suitable for cultivation in Hubei.
