The toxicity of 9 insecticides (endosulfan, dichlorvos, carbaryl, chlorpyrifos, dimethoate, methyl-O-demeton [demeton-O-methyl], malathion, fenvalerate and cypermethrin) to Mylabris sp., M. pustulata and M. thunbergi was determined in the laboratory on the Vamban 1 variety of pigeon peas. Mylabris sp. was very susceptible to all insecticides, whereas M. pustulata was susceptible to fenvalerate and cypermethrin only. M. thunbergi showed moderate levels of resistance.
