Summary
In a field experiment during the monsoon season of 1990 at Kendrapara, Orissa, 3 jute cultivars were given 0-60 kg N/ha. The mean fibre dry matter yield was highest with 60 kg N (2.72 t/ha). Cultivars JRO 524, TJ 40 and KOM 62 gave yields of 2.36, 1.99 and 1.84 t/ha, but the yield differences were not significant.
