Summary
Seven insecticides, fenvalerate, chlorpyrifos, isofenphos, methamidophos, phenthoate, phosalone and phoxim, were applied to cauliflower when the floral buds were about to open to control Plutella xylostella, Pieris brassicae and Heliothis armigera caterpillars, and Thrips flavus. Seven days after treatment the best control of P. brassicae was obtained with 0.05 percent chlorpyrifos, 0.05 percent isofenphos or methamidophos, of H. armigera with 0.05percent phosalone. Eight days after treatment 0.05 percent isofenphos gavie the control of T. flavus. Chlorpyriphos, phosalone, fenvalerate and isofenphos were still effective against P. xylostella.
