Summary
Danbaegkong was selected from a cross made in 1980 between Dongsan 69 (high in seed protein content) and D76-8070 (disease resistant) on the basis of good seed quality. Seed protein content is high (48.9%) making Danbaegkong a good possibility for bean curd (tofu) production. In regional trials, at 6 locations and over 3 years, yields were 8% higher (2.21 t/ha) than for the control cultivar Hwangkeumkong.
