Summary
1. Pure ipomeamarone was isolated from fungus-injured sweet-potato roots for the first time by silica gel column chromatography, and its physical constants were reinvestigated. Revised data were recorded comparetl with the data of previous workers.2. Many Ehrlich's-reagent-positive substances were discovered in a crude specimen of ipomeamarone and in the fllnglls-inj med plant tissue extract; thci r relation to ipomeamarone was discussctl from chemical, biochemical, and pathological viewpoints.
