Publication Date

Summary
During November and December 1982, a total of 718 samples of Abelmoschus [Hibiscus] species were collected throughout both countries. Great variability was apparent, especially in fruit shape (illustrated). Five distinct forms of A. esculentus were distinguished on the basis of fruit shape. Except in A. moschatus [H. abelmoschus], risk of genetic erosion seemed slight.
