Effect of accelerated aging of seeds of four soybean cultivars was studied on two key enzymes of glyoxylate cycle, viz., isocitrate lyase and malate synthetase. Activities were not detectable in seeds but were present at seedling stage. Effect of aging was similar on both the enzymes. A decline in activity was observed in all the cultivars when the seeds were aged for 4 or more days. Maximum reduction was found in cv. T-49. [AS]
