Summary
The life history of L. orbonalis. (Guen) was studied at the Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, Central Mindanao University. the total development period of L. orbonalis was 32.88++-.319 days. The flat-oval eggs were laid anytime of the day but occurred mostly at night. Incubation period ranged from 5 to 7 days with an average of 6.0+-.058 days and a hatchability of 79.24 percent. The larvae underwent six instars and took 14 to 16 days to become pupae, on an average of 11.5+-1.11 days. The average longevity of the male adult was 4.0+-.707 days while the female was 7.5+-.267 days. A male to female ratio of 5:8 was recorded. The average preoviposition and oviposition periods of the female were 1.75 +-.158 and 5.5+-.267 days, respectively. The average number of eggs laid per female was 121.5+0.449.
