Title
The nitrate uptake and accumulation of pak-choi
Author
Publication Date

Summary
The uptake and accumulation of nitrate were studied in 4 cultivars of pak-choi (Brassica campestris subsp. chinensis [B. chinensis]). Michaelis constant (Km), maximum uptake velocity (Vmax), nitrate content in the nitrate metabolic pool (MPS) and nitrate reductase activity (NRA) varied among cultivars. Nitrate content was not correlated with NRA and MPS. The genotypic variation in nitrate accumulation resulted more from the differences in uptake rate than the differences in NRA and MPS.
