Measurements were made of plant water potential, sap osmotic potential, sap electric conductivity, plant relative water content, and shoot and root growth in heat-tolerant and heat-sensitive Chinese cabbage under high temperature. Moderate drought stress was observed in both types under high temperature conditions. Heat-tolerant type maintained at hormal levels in head formation, osmotic potentials, relative water content leaf thickness, and root growth. [AS]
