Summary
Thirty six lines were screened for three years under the conditions of natural infestation to locate the source of resistance against purple blotch disease caused by Alternaria porri. Line IHR-56 was found to be resistant, besides five lines which were moderately resistant. Line IHR-56 is now being used for developing resistant varieties for commercial cultivation. [AS]
