Title:
Yield trial of black soybean strains
Publication date:
1983
Summary:
Thirteen black soybean (known as wutou) strains were tested at Heng-chun and Ilan in spring and summer crops 1983. Results are summarized as follows: At Ilan plot, strain KS 887 had the highest seed yield (1,463kg/ha). It outyielded 26% and matured 11 days earlier than the local black soybean (ck). In spring and summer crops at Heng-chun plots, Ping-tung black soybean was the highest yielder, and followed by the check variety. All the entries had shorter growth period (88-92 days) in spring crop, but longer in summer crop. The lower yields in the spring crop were caused by the long last rain in Ilan area; and windy and drouoght weather during early growth stage in Heng-chun area. [AS]
