Summary
The photosynthetic rates of soybean varieties responded differently to temperature as well as photoperiod. Variety Dalientou was high at short day length in outdoors, while AGS 62 was high at long day length in the glasshouse. This implied that these two varieties probably belonged to different ecotypes. The responses of chlorophyll content and leaf conductance to temperature and photoperiod coincided with the response of photosynthetic rate. Therefore, the effects of temperature and photoperiod to photosynthetic rate were mainly resulted from chlorophyll content and leaf conductance. [AS]
