Abstract

Dry seeds of Pusa Baisakhi green gram [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek cv. Pusa Baisakhi] were exposed to 60Co at doses of 20,30,40 and 50 kR. The mean days to maturity, plant at all the dose treatments height, pods/cluster and 100-seed weight increased at all the doses except at 50 kR for days to maturity. There was a decrease in the mean number of seeds/pod, as well as in pods, clusters, seeds and yield/plant at all the dose treatments. The irradiated populations showed higher variance over the control at all doses in the M3 generation. [AS/SS]
