Summary
Using VLS data on individual wages and agricultural inputs and outputs as well as data from the special questionnaire on nutrition and health, this paper attempts to explore the impact of health status - both transitory as well as cumulative - on labor productivity both at the individual and the household level. Wage equations are estimated for casual daily agricultrual labor which include, among other things, measures of individual health status. A farm production function is also estimated in which average health status of the farm household is allowed to interact with family labor input in influencing farm output. [AS]
